A combined drug with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects for local use in ophthalmology, containing an aminoglycoside antibiotic (tobramycin) and a glucocorticosteroid hormone (dexamethasone).
- Tobramycin sulfate USP eq. tobramycin 3% w/v;
- Dexamethasone sodium phosphate USP eq. dexamethasone 0.1% w/v;
- Benzalkonium chloride solution NF 02% v/v;
- Sterile water base qs.
Inflammatory diseases of the eye and its appendages caused by pathogens sensitive to the drug:
- blepharitis;
- conjunctivitis;
- blepharoconjunctivitis;
- keratitis;
- keratoconjunctivitis;
- prevention and treatment of inflammatory phenomena in the postoperative period after cataract extraction.
Directions for use and dosage: The drug is intended for ophthalmic use only.
For children over 12 years of age and adults including elderly patients, 1-2 drops are prescribed into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye every 4-6 hours.
In the first 24 - 48 hours, the dose can be increased to 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac every 2 hours, followed by a decrease in the frequency of drug instillations as inflammation decreases.
Care should be taken not to stop therapy prematurely. In case of acute severe infectious process: 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac every 60 minutes until the severity of the condition decreases. Then it is necessary to reduce the frequency of drug instillations to 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac every 2 hours for 3 days. Then 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac every 4 hours for 5-8 days. If necessary, continue instillation: 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac for 5-8 days.
